Alex_photoAlexander Dunkel is a doctorate candidate at the University of Technology, Dresden and currently working on his thesis Network Landscapes. His research interests fall mainly in the field of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning, with current research focusing on the increasing connection between the physical existent landscape and the virtual internet on a regional scale. He developed his thesis over a period of one year while working as a research scholar at University of California in Berkeley. Before that, he studied Landscape Architecture and was working at landscape architecture offices of Peter Walker and Partners in Berkeley and CMG landscape architecture in San Francisco. Next to data analysis, GIS algorithms and programming, Alexander’s other interests include design, photo- and videography, and exploring nature. Alex loves windsurfing.
